Layering the Line 2010
I have been painting abstractly in oil for over two decades. When I first started working on aluminum four years ago, the bright, smooth panels stimulated a return to drawing. From somewhere came stands of trees, seen in passing. Last September I began experimenting, to see what else I could do with this beautiful metal surface. Each new approach gives me an opportunity to juggle a new set of ideas. The work that is most internally satisfying is that which is most integrating – that melds and successfully illustrates a set of inclinations and concerns. In this work I am synthesizing my interests in materials, line, light and repetition to create perceptual dichotomy (the work is chaotic and orderly, active and still), with an ambiguous method.
This represents a small sample of my current work. If you would like to see images and prices of what is available, please email me. |
